MUGA facilities

Crawford Group have installed hundreds of MUGA facilities throughout Ireland.

These facilities range from small inner-city kick-about areas to fully developed, floodlit seven-a-side football pitches.

The idea behind a multi-use games area (MUGA) is simple: maximise the use of a space to cater for as many sports and activities as possible.

As such, depending on the location, community needs, environment and many other factors, MUGA facilities will often need to allow for the needs of a wide variety of sports including football, basketball, tennis, netball, badminton, athletics and training for sports such as rugby, gaelic games and hockey.

Each sport has very different requirements in terms of ball-bounce characteristics, slip resistance, surface speed, and so surfacing is required that matches as many of those characteristics as possible.

Crawford Group offer a huge range of painted bitmac, synthetic grass and polymeric surfaces to cater for a wide variety of sports. We were, in fact, the first company to lay a polymeric MUGA facility to comply with Sport England's specifications for a Type 4 facility, and have continued to lead the market ever since.
